The threat arrived on schedule, and I assure you that I have the cash and will pay it tomorrow. I meant to, just now, at the Money Mart, but I forgot to bring it with me. I hope you will indulge me for the twenty-four hours, on the grounds that my music would encourage amp use and increase your profits.

Message to BC Hydro
Begrudge Me This
A topic of discussion that occurred between a Scottish friend and I today was grudges and the people who hold them (He also seems to have had a slight Jethro Tullish influence on my composing, but that's another story.) There are basically two types of grudge holders: the ones who forget their grudges when things are going well for them and the ones who never forget their grudges. I stand firmly in the former group - unless millions upon millions of dollars owed to me are the source of my grudge.

Thinking about Philosophy
While George Carlin once said that children should be taught to question everything [2013: when he was parroting my erased work from 2006 and 2007], I'm not sure I agree wholeheartedly with him. It depends on the child. Philosophy is not for everyone. It takes a strong mind to handle it. The stuff is a kind of intellectual dynamite. Hitler should have been prevented somehow from reading Nietzsche. Look what Hitler did. He seized upon the phrases that appealed to him, ignoring the overall argument, and used them to develop a rather sinister mythology. History tells the rest of the story. I think it's possible for everyone to become philosophers, but the effort needed to achieve this is too great. We got some thick people out there, myself included, who just don't get it the first or second or third time, and, in the meantime, they're walking about with warped versions of very powerful ideas floating about in their heads. Then consider things like societal efficiency. How does the work get done when everyone is questioning their actions all the time? It doesn't. Sorry if I've said all this before. I must have meant it.

Being Fair
Not all birds are bad. Just gulls and crows mostly. And the odd budgie might have an attitude problem. Finches are okay. A little nervous maybe. And I like the good singers, which ever ones they are.

Davy Skerkowski
Davy Skerkowski was a jolly, happy Pole Though his best Polish was pure jibberish And he wasn't quite that tall Davy Skerkowski wrote a song about his pain And it made him hot until he forgot Then he wrote it down again! There must have been some magic in that warehouse that he found That proved itself beyond a doubt the second time around Oh, Davy Skerkowski was alive as he could be When he waved good-bye, saying don't get high, Not unless you include me Puffity-puff-puff, puffity-puff-puff, look at Davy go Puffity-puff-puff, puffity-puff-puff, running from a crow

Having My Cheesie
I was thinking of going family for my next number, you know, like that song, Having My Cheesie. Havin my cheesie What a sleazy way of tellin me that you're hungry Havin my cheesie What a sneaky way of tellin me that you're hungry I see your fingers Turning orange Guess it's time to find a safer place for storage Cause you're having my cheesie...

Not Whipped Yet (Wishful Dreaming)
I fell asleep without any sounds to interfere with my dreams last night. I dreamt that I wrote a blog about having a dream that I was mowing the lawn when the mower got away from me and lifted me high into the sky, off into space, past the planets and the stars, until I ended up on a planet of women, where I was greeted by its leader. (Plus two escorts.) The first thing they asked me to do was to go back and bring the whipper-snipper.

Crash Course
You know who's good musicians? Angels. Those fuckers can play. Good with harmony vocals, too. The good angels get all the attention, but the dark angels can play, too. Every angel I've ever met can play the shit out of harp. That's why people with near-death experiences often return to life with improved music skills. It's elementary. I only really knew how to play my organ once I had that little accident on the freeway a while back.

The Horror of Cosmicism
Rocket Robin Hood takes from the cosmic rich to give to the astral poor, but he won't be around until the astonishing year, 3000. In the meantime, the cosmic rich are flying around in space, keeping all the goodies for themselves, while the rest of us have to work. They're up their in their galactic love-boats, probably in the space casino, blowing all their credits on Celestial Blackjack. Fuckers. They conquered our whole galaxy and now they're coming after the solar system.

Mow Funny
Let's play 'Fall Asleep With A Video Playing' again. This time we're watching a show about WW2 airplanes. It will take you by surprise in your dreams, when you are mowing the lawn, to find that you are capable of flight from the experience. But you must hold the mower up steady over your head or you will lose stability and either shoot around the sky like a drunken firefly or crash. Hard. (Luckily it was only a dream.)

Sleigh Them
Man, I was watching this old footage of the Battle of Stalingrad and it was all very serious, but I found myself laughing in one spot. It was somewhere shortly after the Russian counter-offensive. Snowmobiles with machine guns! Man that's smart. You have to hand it to those Russians. They can be quite clever. I wish I had a ski-doo with a machine gun. I'm in Vancouver so I have to settle for a sea-do with a vaporizer.

Why We Paint
I forgot how many songs I have. I have a lot. But I'm serious this time about the mural. I must paint that mural at all costs. It is the background for my little broadcast studio. I might think of a giant propaganda symbol or something. I'll have to think about it. Should be fun. Since the wall is still bare from the last time I promised to paint the mural, this is a clear way out of the cycle I've been stuck in for the last few years. Perhaps the mural was meant to open a new dimension through which I would be able to carry on my work. I won't know until I try.

For the Birds
Remember when I said I dislike birds? They started it. They swoop down on me. I'm telling you. And I think they can sense my fear now. They all just gang up on me. Fucking crows and gulls. You'd swear they were signalling each other all along my walking route. | ||

Good Old Boys
Old folks can be good or bad. I'm not an authority on old people, being only old to perhaps to some of my listeners, but I recall a line from Confucius about a sapling. The idea went that a sapling can bend and not break. Brittleness is to be avoided. This might be difficult for many who become deeply rooted in their ways over time.
